It’s official, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is coming in May, as revealed in a listing on Xbox.com. The listing confirms the game’s release date of May 1, along with the fact that you won’t need a copy of Far Cry 3 to play it, meaning it’ll be a standalone release.
What’s more, 80s action hero, Michael Biehn, of Aliens and Terminator fame, will be involved with the title, presumably as the voice of protagonist, Sergeant Rex Colt.
The listing also details the story, “Far Cry® 3 Blood Dragon is THE Kick-Ass Cyber Shooter taking place on a bizarre open-world island crawling with evil. Welcome to an 80’s VHS vision of the future. The year is 2007 and you are Sargent Rex Colt, a Mark IV Cyber Commando who’s fighting against a cyborg army gone rogue. Your mission: get the girl, kill the baddies, and save the world.”
Ubisoft still hasn’t officially announced the title, but it’s coming, and it look like it could be a full-on 80s sci-fi geek-fest. Here’s hoping.
