He’s a writing machine and, thankfully, as skilled at building universes of his own creation (Midworld, Spellsinger, the Flinx adventures) as he is at fleshing out the worlds and words of others, which is precisely what he’s done in his many novelizations of screenplays (Dark Star, Alien, Starman, Transformers). Foster spent a good chunk of the 1970s penning Star Trek novels, but he’d stopped by 1979, finally returning to the franchise when asked to do the novelization of Star Trek (2009). Terror On The Streets Of London…

A man has been killed in a machete attack and two suspects shot and wounded by police in Woolwich, south-east London.

The Met Police said a murder inquiry was being led by its Counter Terrorism Command. Prime Minister David Cameron said the UK would “never buckle” in the face of terror attacks.

Footage has emerged showing a man wielding a bloodied meat cleaver and making political statements.

Police confirmed two men had been arrested in connection with the murder.
